Glacier Bay NP, Alaska
A highlight of our cruise vacation was being able to see the most remote national park in the US, Glacier Bay National Park. Only a handful of cruiselines are able to take the trip in to visit, so we were lucky to be able to see it all. The night before, pamphlets and other information about the park were placed in our cabin which helped us prepare. Margerie Glacier was the big highlight where we stopped for an hour to view and see the glacier calving. Other highlights? Seeing groups of sea otters hanging around and observing the absolutely still waters around us. There were also tiny icebergs floating around which of course spurred our oldest son to yell, “Iceberg, dead ahead!” causing us all to get a bit embarrassed - multiple times lol. Life with kids! Speaking of kids, Princess had arranged for park rangers to come on board, and when they weren’t guiding us through the park from the ship bridge, they were answering questions for guests around the ship and doing presentations. The kids loved that they could get a junior ranger badge here. Such a special experience!
Anyway, a few snaps from this part of the journey. This was the kind of day I wish I had better zoom to capture the wildlife, but this will do for now.
