Skagway, Alaska

A few weeks ago we went on our summer vacation - to Alaska! We traveled in by cruise ship with Princess Cruises and loved the entire experience. I’ll be sharing bits and pieces here, so expect more to come :)

One of our stops was in Skagway, Alaska - which is considered the most authentic Alaskan city - and it really had a character of its own. Oddly enough, my mom said it looked so much like a film set at Universal Studios, which, as you can see through the photos, is also true! Highlights of this visit? Our first taste of fry bread at Klondike Doughboy, and, of course, our ride of the White Pass Scenic Railway. This train took us through an incredibly scenic route that touched on Canada then looped back for a 3 hour trip. With all there was to see, it felt so much shorter. The train was built to get residents of Skagway to the Yukon territory during the Klondike Gold Rush, and there’s bits of history they share throughout the entire ride.
