Habell Family Session

One thing I’ve noticed a lot about becoming a family photographer is that it seems almost rare for families to take portraits with their older kids. It seems like once their youngest is of school age, formal family photos dwindle.

Can we change that? Can we normalize taking photos with our older children?

I’ll admit the portraits will never be quite as whimsical as what I get from toddlers, but they’re still our kids. They’re still growing, they’re still changing. They still have so much to offer to the family, and even though the photos may feel like something that’s just for the parents, down the line, they’ll be even more loved by your kids. These portraits? They’re for us now, for our children later. Portraits are one of the few things in this world that increase in value over time, don’t you think?
